PRE TAX PURCHASE
Employees purchase the GAP plan to cover out of pocket expense such as large deductibles and coinsurance. The document posted above demonstrates the cost of the GAP plan may be leveraged against pre tax contributions, helping to keep take home pay intact.
REIMBURSEMENT OF PREMIUM
As pre tax purchase may not cover the entire cost of the GAP plan, the employee may be reimbursed the balance of premium monthly via EFT.
TAKE HOME PAY INTACT
Employee participation in the in the Population Health/Wellness program is required for reimbursement of excess GAP premium. This keeps take home pay intact and provides the GAP plan at no cost which covers the health plan out of pocket deductible and coinsurance. The high deductible plan becomes a platinum plan.
